Chapter 50

Hudson’s wolf howled with glee when they heard their mate whisper the word “OK.” Hudson cradled Amanda’s face with his hand as he leaned in to kiss her again. His wolf purred when they heard the tiny moans that were coming from their mate. Hudson keeping her in his arms pulled away from the door and walked then over to the couch and sat down still holding his mate in his arms.

Amanda pulled away from Hudson for a moment and said, “Wait, shouldn’t we continue what we were talking about?”

Hudson wrapped his hand around the back of her neck and pulled her back close so that he could continue what they started and whispered, “Right now I don’t care.” And placed his lips back on hers.

Amanda’s body was tingling in every spot that Hudson was touching her. She could feel the heat that was burning between her legs and couldn’t believe that this was actually happening. She was making out, not only was she making out, but she was making out with Hudson. As she continued to kiss him she could feel his hands rubbing up and down her back and backside, then slowly they crept to her thighs inching his way up the dress.

Amanda pulled back quickly, putting her hand on his chest to give herself some distance, and told him, “We need to stop for a moment.”

Hudson groaned but reluctantly nodded.

He pulled his hands back in surrender and allowed Amanda to slip herself off his lap so that she could catch her breath.

Amanda began to pace as she took in deep breaths and allowed herself to cool down. Somewhere deep inside her was yelping at the loss of Hudson’s warm touch but she needed to think and not get caught up in the moment and allow too much to happen too quickly.

She looked over at Hudson and saw the hunger lingering in his eyes for her.

“Hudson, please don’t look at me like that.” She asked.

“Like what?” He answered his voice sounding hot and sexy making her body want to scream for more.

She walked farther away from him, allowing more space to be between them before she answered, “Like that. Like you want to devour me.”

Amanda didn’t know how to calm herself down. She had never felt this way before and didn’t know how to stop it.

Hudson let out a deep husky laugh.

Amanda’s eyes rolled into the back of her head as she gripped the closet piece of furniture around her to keep her grounded. What the hell was happening to her?

“It’s nice to see that I have an effect on you,” Hudson said with a laugh.

Amanda looked up and glared at Hudson then took a deep breath and regained control of her body. She refused to let Hudson win and be controlled by the desire that she was starting to have for him. And then Amanda remembered something, and her glare changed to a challenging stare, and a smirk slowly crept across her face.

Hudson didn’t like where this was going.

“You know Hudson, I can torture you just as much.” She told him, as she held his stare and smirked.

Hudson’s smile faded and he crossed his arms over his chest.

Amanda giggled as she turned and made her way to the kitchen to fix herself something to eat.

Ruby followed Deak through the tunnels that were going to lead them to wherever they ended. She didn’t like that she had to depend on a complete stranger to get her to safety but there was this feeling inside her that was telling her to trust him.

“So, what do you know about the families that are pictured in that mausoleum?”

“I know little from what my mother told me when I was a child but had forgotten for years until after her death and wanted to learn more.” Deak confided.

“What do know of the Creole Coven?” He asked her.

“The Creole Coven.” She said as she pondered the question. It had been years since she had heard anything about them. Hearing something that they had either fled or were all killed for their power.

“Nothing since I was younger. I thought they were all dead.”

“Most of them yes. My mother was a descendant of the coven but was shunned when they heard she was mated to Lycan. My mother chooses my father over Coven. They were not happy.”

Ruby let that information process for a moment and realized what he was saying. She knew what she needed to ask but did not want to hear the answer.

“So, what you are saying is that those were the families of the coven?”

“Yes, five families in total made up Coven.”

She hadn’t bothered to look at the other pictures or walls once she saw the Warren name above one of the trees. Her blood boiled and her wolf howled as she felt her anger. All this time she had known him growing up and he never once mentioned any of this. She thought she knew him.

Deak chuckled.

“I assume you were unaware of the Professor.” He said to her.

Ruby let out a huff and shook her head.

“Relax, I have yet to connect him yet to the coven officially.” He admitted.

“But his picture?”

“That is one of his relatives. A strong resemblance though, correct?”

“Yes.”

“So how does Amanda tie into all of his exactly?” She asked him.

Deak remained quiet as he slowed down and sniffed around when they got closer to a lighted area.

“I’m not sure exactly. At first, I was simply watching her for my uncle.” He admitted.

“Your Uncle?” Ruby said with alarm.

“Yes, my uncle is a very powerful man and asked me to keep an eye on Amanda who I like to call a small girl. It was only later that I knew that she was mated to the wolf. Which h only made him want her more.”

“Who’s your uncle?”

“He refuses for me to call him by his human name. I’m only to call him the Lycan King. He owns a lot of land and is very rich. He’s always hungry.” He told her.

“Hungry for what?”

“For more.” Deak paused for a moment then said, “Come, we can leave from here. We are only a few miles from the pack.”

Ruby was confused more now than ever. Amanda had been on the Lykan King’s radar even before they knew she was mated to Hudson.

“I just don’t understand how Amanda fits into all this unless… are the Stevens a part of the Coven?”

Deak stopped and turned to look back at Ruby.

“I have searched and searched to find a link to the small girl but have yet to find anything. The Stevens are normal and have no relation to the situation.” He said as he stepped into the forest where the tunnel had ended.

“What do you mean no relation?” Ruby asked as she squinted when she came out of the tunnel.

“No relation not biological.”

Ruby reached out for Deak’s arm and pulled him back to look at her.

“Are you trying to say…”

Deak nodded and confirmed, “Small girl is adopted.”
