Chapter 4

Alexandria Academy

I was amazed to see the entirety of this massive building. Right now, I feel like I’m standing in an enchanted place. In the middle of the forest, there’s an Academy like this? “Welcome to our school, Althea,” Lydia whispered to me. I looked around again, a lot of frames are lining the wall. The floor is carpeted with a logo of fire. Chandeliers are giving enough light to emphasize the beauty of the place, there is a grand staircase in the middle of the huge hall. Doors and windows are all over the surrounding.

I cannot believe what I am witnessing right now. I didn’t realize my jaw already dropped in the sight of this place.

“Stop drooling,” Isaac told me emphatically causing me to look at him. I’m not drooling at all! I’m just amazed!

“Greetings, Officers. Mr. And Mrs. Scott are calling you into the office,” said the woman wearing a decent dress. She was wearing the same as that woman who was now cleaning around. But she seems to be superior to them.

“Okay,” Isaac coldly answered and we walked to the Grand Staircase. As we climb up the stairs, the wall on our side has a huge picture frame, of two women. They look very much alike. A lot of their pictures are everywhere. I stared at the name written at the bottom of the frame.

Katherine Smith and Zecharia Villanueva That is the name of the two women in the picture. We passed by it and we walked down a quiet but wide hallway. This place gives me chills.

“We’re here.” We entered a room. It’s huge, and a lot of bookshelves were covering the glass window. There’s a fireplace on the side of the room. Two women are wearing formal attire.

They look elegant in their outfits. The same goes for the two men wearing coats and ties. They have an aura of authority. They have a scary stance.

“Good morning, Mr. President,” the beautiful woman said to Isaac. I was no longer surprised that Isaac is their President. The others seem to follow everything he says.

“Good morning, Mrs. Athena,” Isaac said politely causing Mrs. Athena to laugh.

“Just like your mom. Always calling me Athena.” Then Mrs. Athena laughed again.

“Who is she?” I looked at the man who asked me. There I saw his blue eyes. Amazing. But why are Isaac’s eyes different? His eye color is forest green. But to my surprise, I had nothing in common with them. My eyes have different colors.

“Althea Genovie,” I answered politely. They looked at each other and faced me again. They checked me as if they’re something in me that they want to know.

“What are you doing in the forest? How did you get here?” Mrs. Athena asked me in astonishment.

“She’s soaked with water and her head is bleeding. It only means one thing. She’s from the other world,” the other man said. I looked at myself and he was right. I was soaked in water, my head is bleeding, my hair and clothes were messy, and I feel like my body is swollen.

“She needs to be healed right now. Isaac will lead her to the clinic,” Lydia tried to interrupt but Mrs. Athena didn’t agree.

“We will talk to her first. Just give us a second,” she said. So, they immediately left, leaving me here alone. But I want to run towards them. The air inside this room feels like choking me. I feel like I can’t breathe.

“Althea, I’m Mrs. Athena Hawkins the former leader of Alexandria Academy. And the mother of Cath. And he’s my husband, Mr. Carlo Hawkins,” Mrs. Athena introduced herself.

“I’m Mr. Scott, the new leader of this Academy. And she’s my wife. Mrs. Kaye Scott. We are the parents of Kurt,” said Mr. Scott.

“What brought you here, Althea?” Mrs. Athena asked. What brought me here? The butterflies, I followed them inside the forest. But I could not answer them. I don’t want them to think that I’m crazy for doing that.

“I-I don’t know,” I replied. I didn’t know that when I woke up, I would be here.

“Your eyes are different,” I heard Mr. Hawkins ask as he examines my eyes.

“I think, you need to stay here.” I was surprised by what Mr. Scott had said. As well as Mrs. Scott, Mrs. Athena, and Mr. Hawkins were surprised by Mr. Scott’s sudden decision.

“Why?!” we asked at once. Mr. Scott just smiled at me. A smile to encourage me. It was as if I was carried away by his smile. But how am I supposed to study here? In a place where I don’t even know if it’s real or if all of these are just a dream.

“H-How?” I raised my brow. Moving to another school is not that easy. And on top of that, I feel like this place isn’t even normal at all. I feel like I’m in a different dimension.

“It’s okay, Althea. Alexandria Academy can help you to finish your studies. We will help you.” I just nodded. I also don’t know why I agreed. I know this place is not normal. It has a strange aura that I didn’t feel in my former school.

Maybe it is the fact that they’re too generous. I didn’t even think that they would talk to me. No one talked to me like they did. No one treated me like this.

“We are ready to help you, Althea. As long as I still don’t have the answers I’m looking for, stay here. Study here. And be a student at Alexandria Academy.” My eyes widened at what Mr. Scott said. “Be a student of Alexandria Academy.”

Is what I heard true? I will be a student at this Academy. Am I awake? For a moment, I seemed to understand everything. This place might answer all the questions in my mind that I have been unable to find the answer to.

I know it seems impossible, but what if this place is what I’ve been looking for for a long time? I’ve decided, I’ll stay here. I’ll be a student at Alexandria Academy.
