Hudson fought off the Lycians one after another, he felt like when he killed one two more took their place.
“They just keep coming,” A warrior yelled.
Hudson looked around to see if they needed to call in reinforcements. Before he could decide the Lycians started to retreat back across the borderline. The warriors cheered, but Hudson knew it wasn’t over.
Hudson shifted back into his human form, he grabbed a pair of shorts and put them on before he made his way over to where Tab and Marco were.
Marco was looking over at Tab like a possessive wolf.
“Marco, I told you. I’m fine,” She told him.
“I’m just making sure.” He said as he continued to look.
Tab grabbed his face and kissed him.
Hudson turned away from the kissing couple. He missed Amanda and hoped she was doing okay. But something wasn’t sitting right with him.
“Anybody has a phone I can use?” He asked.
A warrior tossed him his cell. Hudson had made a point to memorize Amanda’s number. He dialed the number. The phone rang and rang before it went to voicemail.
She probably didn’t answer because she didn’t know the number. He was about to send her a text message when the phone started to ring with Amanda’s number flashing across the screen.
“Amanda?”
“Hudson?”
His wolf whined when he heard their mate’s voice. Something wasn’t right.
“Hudson, don’t come it’s a trap,” She yelled.
The phone started to ring a video call.
Hudson growled as he accepted the call and saw his mate tied up. He was going to kill Deak. he knew he shouldn’t have trusted Lykan.
“Little wolf, so good of you to call,” The husky voice purred.
It wasn’t Deak’s. What happened to Deak? Where’s Ruby?
“Let Amanda go, she’s not a part of this.”
“Oh, I’m afraid she’s more a part of this than you even realize little wolf,” He laughed.
Hudson let out a ferocious growl.
“I’m coming for you, and I’m going to shred you to pieces when I get my claws on you,” Hudson threatened.
“Are you challenging me, little wolf?”
“My pack and all the surrounding packs will take your filthy Lycians down.”
“To the death.”
“To the death,” Hudson confirmed.
“Hudson, please don’t do this!” Amanda pleaded.
“Don’t worry little wolf she’s in good hands,” he said as he showed Hudson Amanda and a girl standing beside her.
“You remember Kimmy? My devilishly sexy mate was able to bring me your mate.”
Kimmy, Hudson narrowed his gaze on the girl.
“I’m going to enjoy chewing you up, Kimmy,” Hudson said with an evil grin.
Kimmy’s smile faded.
“I’m not scared of you Hudson. My mate will kill you before you can even touch me,” Kimmy exclaimed.
“Now little wolf, we must go. But we’ll see you soon.”
The video call ended.
Hudson threw the phone into the air.
Amanda was taken, and his mate was being held prisoner all because he couldn’t protect her.
Fabian Kiraly smiled down at the phone in his hand. His plan came together, and everything was falling into place. Now he just needed to wait.
“Please, leave Hudson out of this. Why do you want him?”
“Oh, my dear, sweet girl. I need him, for you.”
Amanda looked at him confused.
“Oh, you don’t know to do you? You left the little witch girl before she could tell you, so quickly to rescue your poor friend Kimmy. Just to find out she’s been against you the entire time,” He pouted at her.
Kimmy laughed.
Amanda glared at her. She should have taken Vita’s advice. She thought she was doing the right thing.
“Where’s Deak?” Amanda asked.
“Ah yes, where is my nephew?”
Andras and Tibor dragged Deak out. They had attempted to clean him up until he started to fight them off and they had to knock him out. He was out cold when they dropped him in front of her.
“Deak,” She whispered.
“Would you like to know who your real parents are?”
Amanda looked up at the Lykan King.
“I see that got your attention.” he walked up to her and grab her by the chin and leaned his head to her ear and whispered, “Your parents were none other than Robert and Lilian Jenkins.”
Amanda shivered. Bobby and Lily were her parents. Did that mean…
“Yes, I see the gears in your head are turning. And here’s the clincher, Lily is a descendant of the Duvall family.”
“Wait, isn’t that…” Amanda started to put it together. She looked down at Deak.
“Yes, you are related to my nephew on his mother’s side.” he looked down at his nephew and said with a sigh, “I had high hopes for him when I found out about his Wiccan he couldn’t do magic.”
“But I don’t, I mean I haven’t…”
“Your powers haven’t been invoked just yet. That’s where your little wolf comes into play.” He released her chin and slowly walked around her.
“I don’t feel anything. What if you’re wrong.” Amanda shook her head in disbelief.
“Have you ever gotten chills when a certain someone gets close to you?” He purred in her ear. “Your wolf has been there; you just haven’t listened to her.”
Amanda couldn’t believe it if what he was saying was true then was she…
“A hybrid, yes,” His eyes sparkled as he continued to move around her.
“So much potential, so much power, and it’s been just sitting inside you ready to burst.”
“If I have all this power, how does this help you?” She asked.
He looked at her with sad eyes mockingly.
“Well, that is the unfortunate part for you. When you come into your powers, I will have to drain you and kill you.”
Kimmy chimed in as she walked over to curl against the Lykan Kings, “Then my King will be the most powerful supernatural being, and nothing will be able to stop him.”
“That’s right my sweet.” He purred as he lifted Kimmy’s chin and kissed her in front of Amanda.
Amanda started to gag.
Kimmy pulled away and glared, “What’s your problem?”
“I just don’t get it, he’s so old and you’re just a shitty human. I don’t get the attraction.”
Kimmy walked up and slapped Amanda across the face hard.
Amanda smirked as she felt the burn on her cheek.
“Now pet, don’t leather get you all worked up.” The king told his mate as he pulled her away and they walked over to his throne. He sat down and placed Kimmy in his lap.
She rubbed her hands up and down his chest but continued to glare at Amanda.
Amanda tilted her head back and sighed.
Ruby, Zachary, and Vita pulled up to the North Border where Luna Cynthia had told Ruby where Hudson would be.
“What happened?” Hudson yelled when he saw them walking toward him.
“No, never mind. I know exactly what happened. He’s got Amanda and he’s using her to get to me.”
“Umm… actually you might have that reversed.” Vita chimed in. “He’s using you to get her to invoke her powers.”
